Lake Victoria and surrounding area

Lake Victoria is the second largest lake in the world. It is approx. 410km long and up to 250km wide. The maximum depth of the lake is 75m. It covers 69,490km2. It is surrounded by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.  The temperature in Lake Victoria ranges from about 21-27°C (70-81°F).  The pH ranges from 7.1-9.  There are several lakes that are connected to Lake Victoria such as: Lake George, Lake Fwa, and Lake Albert. The lake is drained by the Nile River.
