"MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL "
You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On
September 11, 2001. Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his
wife to say "Good-Bye." I held his fingers steady
as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to
make it, but it is OK...I am ready to go."
I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children.
I held her up as she tried to understand his
words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that
night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me
for help. "I have been knocking on the door of your
heart for 50 years!" I said.
"Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now."
I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the
injured and devastated souls. I took him home to
tend to his Flock in
Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was
in
the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them
that
their faith has saved them.
I was in Texas, Kansas, and London. I was standing
next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on
the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath. Some
couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; "Come to
Me... this way... take my hand." Some chose, for the final
time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may
not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive
moment in time would you have reached for Me?
September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you
as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any
moment, you know you are "ready to go."
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
One man's plea for sanity in a world where Life is not respected...
Nothing I could write will make the events of Sept 11, 2001 any more meaningful. I have no beautifully-worded speeches or wise sayings to recall that can
bring a tear to one's eye or provide greater clarity as to the magnitude
of the travesty we've witnessed. I have no heartfelt stories to tell of
11th hour cell phone calls. I bear no pictures of missing friends or
family.
Many have spoken more elegantly than me -- from President Bush's
comforting words and demonstration of leadership following the crashes to
Billy Graham's candor and acknowledgment that his faith in God is the only
answer he has to the question of why evil exists in our world.
Yet, I'm struck by the enormous unity and perseverance of the American
people. The free world is speaking with one voice against the acts of war
perpetrated by these suicide bombers.
Abortion has been a tremendous scar on the United States of America. Yes, God must mourn the aborted lives of 40 million unborn children. Did you know that the number of abortions in one day almost equals the number of lives taken on Tuesday,
September 11th.
Now is a time for hope and healing instead of chastisement and condemnation. Stories have already surfaced of selfless acts that typify the Christian,
pro-life values we ought to celebrate and aggressively promote.
* Several passengers on Flight 93 band together to prevent their plane
from becoming the fourth to crash violently into an important building or
public place killing hundreds if not thousands of people. One of the
passengers is a Christian who helps overtake the terrorists and makes
several calls to his wife to share his love with her and to help provide
descriptions of the terrorists for authorities.
* In a World Trade Center already ablaze, one man carries a
wheelchair-bound disabled woman down at least 40 flights of stairs rather
than allow her to fend for herself in a crumbling building.
* Perhaps as many as 200 firefighters, police officers and other rescue
workers rushed into a burning World Trade Center to save as many lives as
possible. Little did they know they would be making the ultimate act of
sacrifice when the buildings collapsed and they too became casualties of
this brutal terrorist attack.
* Following the tragic events, millions of Americans unite together in
candlelight vigils, to attend special church ceremonies and rallies, to
participate in prayers and moments of silence, and to donate.
Celebrate these pro-life deeds. One day in Heaven we'll be able to thank these
brave men and women for their Christ-like actions.
They proved what it means to be a Christian.
They proved what it really means to be pro-life.

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY: On this 29th anniversary of Roe v. Wade-the 1973
Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion on demand-Focus on the Family
reflects on the tragic consequences of this landmark decision and seeks to
empower more women with truth and life-affirming options.
"Abortion is more than a political topic to be bandied about on the Sunday
morning television talk shows or mentioned as an afterthought in a
candidate's position statement," said Carrie Gordon Earll, Focus on the
Family's Bioethics Analyst. "It is a painful reality for millions of
American women who feel they have no other option and for their unborn
children who often die as a result of his or her mother's uninformed
decision.
"Abortion is not truly a choice unless every woman facing an unexpected
pregnancy is informed of all of her alternatives and potential health
risks associated with abortion," said Earll. "We know much more today
about the long-term psychological and physical complications of abortion
than we did in 1973-including the increased risk of breast cancer and
potential complications with future pregnancies. Women deserve to know
what an abortion choice may mean for their future health.
"Twenty-nine years of legalized abortion has infected our culture with a
mentality that deems some life as expendable, thereby threatening members
of the human family in other stages of life through embryonic stem cell
research and physician-assisted suicide. Human life, regardless of its
stage of development, is never disposable," said Earll.
Focus on the Family is working to end this culture of death by joining
with thousands of churches to celebrate "Sanctity of Human Life Week."
Pastors all across the country will focus on educating and equipping their
congregations with a biblical worldview of life. Focus actively supports
the work of those involved in providing women comprehensive,
life-affirming choices and provides assistance to thousands of crisis
pregnancy centers and churches.
"Despite our culture's assault on life, the pro-life movement has done
amazing things to help women," said Earll. "We will continue to work for
the day when women and children are not victimized, the elderly are
respected, and the handicapped are cared for as unique human beings
created in the image of God."
Pray against all human disasters and misery, including man made violence, like crime, terrorism and abortion.
Psalm 27
1 Jehovah [is] my light and my salvation, Whom do I fear? Jehovah [is] the strength of my life, Of whom am I afraid?
2 When evil doers come near to me to eat my flesh, My adversaries and mine enemies to me, They have stumbled and fallen.
3 Though a host doth encamp against me, My heart doth not fear, Though war riseth up against me, In this I [am] confident.
Will we follow the Biblical teaching, "loving our neighbor as ourselves", or throw away the wonderful opportunity presented to us to show God's grace to the broken?
Will we "suffer the children to come unto us", or will we abort them to death in the name of convenience?
Will we serve our Lord (which is "our rightful service"), or serve ourselves? Would we usurp His throne? He is the giver of life, with power over the grave.
Many never crack open a Bible. How will they believe?
We have the opportunity to actually live it out before them. We can be their Bible!
Are we a Bible, or a libel? God forbid that we should be the reason that the lost can't see their path to Him.
God is LOVE. Let's model His love to a lost and dying world.
May God place a "hedge" around His children!
God IS Love !!!
