South American Cichlids

There is a large variety of South American cichlids. As they cover such a large part of the world, you would expect them to have many different care requirements. This is true. Generally speaking,
the water parameters for South American cichlids are of a lower pH than most other cichlids. Likewise,  temperature requirements are diverse. A basic temperature range of approximately 22-27°C (72-80°F) will suit the majority of South American cichlids.
